This car was imported into Finland during the first half of 1971 by official Alfa Romeo agent Suomen Koneliike Oy. It was registered in May with registration number "BM-2". It suites well to the car as "Bella Macchina" in Italian. The car has had six owners. Its first owner replaced it after two years to new Alfa Romeo Montreal. Most long it has been owned by Mauri Pietilä (1973-2002). The car was accepted into the Finnish Historical Car Registry (Museoautorekisteri) in 2002, then it was owned by Mikael Hatanmaa. Current owner has had the car since 2007.
The caris in original condition, it has never been restored or had major repairs, it has just experienced normal maintenance work. It has 153.000 km in the odometer. From the Originalita-committee's statement: With this kind of history of maintenance and condition of originality this car is rarity, and not only in Finland.
Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Veloce is also known as "Bertone Coupé". It was in production during 1963-1976. This is the most widely loved version of Alfa Romeo. It was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Bertone. |
