1750 Berlina (105.48), 1968
Antti Reenpää

Alfa Romeo introduced to markets new Giulia based bigger and more prominent sedan model in 1967. In addition to the new body also the engine was changed to bigger, now with 1779 ccm. Alfa's marketing department decided to name the new series (Berlina, GTV and Spider) as 1750, according the victorious sport model from 1920's.

In Finland the sales of these 1750 models started in 1968. In Finnish magazine "Tekniikan Maailma" issue 15/1968 journalist Mauri Salo wrote a very excited test drive story. The story began with a 2 page wide picture of newly build Finnish highway with Alfa's speedometer showing speed of 180 km/h. This story made ineffaceable memory to car's current owner.

This car is one of the first ones imported to Finland. Its first owner had it serviced regularly (original service book is available) and drove about 10000 km during first years. Later when the first owner past away, his daughter kept the car undriven in warm garage and sold it in 2001 to car journalist Kai L. Bremer, then the car was driven 40000 km. Antti Reenpää bought the car in 2010, now it has 46000 km.

Because of long periods of standing, the car needed a completed overhaul. It was pure pleasure, because it has now rost, and everything is unbroken and original. Including also paint and interior. Its originality gives its driver an evelasting smile!
