Markus bought the car in October 2009 from a Swedish classic car collector in Strängnäs. The purchasing process took several very long phonecalls. The deal was agreed so that when Markus see the car he can cancel it, in case it does not appeal or does not resemble what's been told. The car's history is very well documented. It has run 47,300 km. The first owner had bought it whe he ws 60 years of age. He held the car until he was 94 yers old. This explains why the car was in very good original shape. It was not faultless, for example the engine and some parts of the outer painting had minor faults.
The purchase of the car occured at an interesting time, because many alfisti like Markus were planning a trip to Italy and Alfa's centennial party in Milano. Markus decided to apply originality check from RIAR. The inspection was carried out at Monza race circuit during the centenary by Lorenzo Marzullo and director of technical department Maurizio Tabbuchi. After minor corrections the car was approved with "Certificato di Omologazione" as number 1136. |
