The production of Alfa Romeo Alfasud started in August 1973. In summer 1974 Suomen Koneliike imported this two door 2P (=porte, door) Alfasud Ti with VIN:AS–5330265–901C and it was first registraded in northern part of Finland, Kajaani, by Timo Immonen on September 2nd 1974 with plates OBN-222. Car's history from that day to present is not fully known. Car's present owner Markku Johansson has not yet started that work, but at some time the car has been registered in the southern part of Finland, Kymi area with RGN-523 registration plates.
Markku searched an Alfasud for a long time. When he finally in September 2009 found an advertisement, he immediately called the owner of the car and towed the car from Sukeva to his garage in Ylöjärvi. In Sukeva the car had ended up to be a farmer's field -car.
Markku's Alfasud Ti is in fully original condition, it is been repainted to its original colour and registration plates are original too. Markku's restoration work has been immaculate with precise consideration. With piety and love done restoration work, and with respect for all the originality, we can only look with admiration at the great outcome and its details. |
